Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio, is an American actor. She is best known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills and Kim Mills on ABC's Lost television series. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio, dropped out high school, and relocating in Los Angeles after her divorced parents. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first acting gig as Rachel's Room's title character the online video series Rachel's Room in the year 2001. In 2002 she was nominated to receive a Young Artist Award with her role as 15-year old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace appeared as Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television series in 2004. She was the main protagonist for two seasons and was awarded an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was dropped from the series in 2005 to focus on the role of a greater part in movies, and had a role in the film Taken alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. She appeared on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. The actress reprised her character for Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character of Shannon in two episodes of Lost as well as the show's finale. Grace appeared on Californication's 6th season that aired between 2013 and 2014. She portrays Faith as a groupie, and is also a model the stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. A member of the Gyllenhaal clan She is the daughter of film makers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and is the younger sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career in the teen years with minor appearances in the films of her father and starred with her brother in the famous cult classic Donnie Darko (2001). Later, she was on the screen in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performance in the erotic romance comedy Secretary (2002) and in the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) both of which earned her an Golden Globe Award nomination. She had several commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However, it was her role in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). For her performance as a single mother, in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She subsequently starred in the comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (2012). She also played the role of a Secret Service Agent in White House Down, an action thriller from 2013, a musician as Frank (2014), a musician Frank (2014) and the lead role in The Kindergarten Teacher, a film that debuted in the year 2018. Gyllenhaal composed and directed her debut film The Lost Daughter in 2021. The thriller that dealt with psychological issues was awarded the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
